Az ott k\u00f6z\u00f6lt le\u00edr\u00e1s alapj\u00e1n az el\u0151ker\u00fclt h\u00e1t-, v\u00e1ll-, comb-, l\u00e1b- \u00e9s bordacsontok, valamint b\u0151rlemezek egy pikkelyes, n\u00f6v\u00e9nyev\u0151 dinoszauruszhoz tartoztak. A maradv\u00e1nyok kor\u00e1t a bajoci korba, vagyis a k\u00f6z\u00e9ps\u0151 jura f\u00f6ldt\u00f6rt\u00e9neti kor m\u00e1sodik szakasz\u00e1ba helyezt\u00e9k, ami azt jelenti, hogy a p\u00e9ld\u00e1ny csaknem 168 milli\u00f3 \u00e9vvel ezel\u0151tt \u00e9lhetett, j\u00f3val kor\u00e1bban a legt\u00f6bb eddig el\u0151ker\u00fclt stegosaurusn\u00e1l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mintegy 2,8 m\u00e9ter hossz\u00fa dinoszaurusz maradv\u00e1nyai a mai d\u00e9lnyugat-k\u00ednai Csungking ter\u00fclet\u00e9r\u0151l ker\u00fcltek el\u0151, a kutat\u00f3k pedig a ter\u00fclet \u00f3kori neve (Bashan, magyar \u00e1t\u00edr\u00e1ssal: pasan) ut\u00e1n a p\u00e9ld\u00e1nyt Bashanosaurus primitivusnak nevezt\u00e9k el. A viszonylag kis termet\u0171, n\u00e9gyl\u00e1b\u00fa dinoszaurusz kisebb, \u00e9s kev\u00e9sb\u00e9 fejlett lapock\u00e1val rendelkezik, mint a t\u00f6bbi, vele nagyj\u00e1b\u00f3l egy id\u0151ben \u00e9l\u0151 stegosaurus, amelyekt\u0151l megk\u00fcl\u00f6nb\u00f6zteti az is, hogy a h\u00e1t\u00e1n tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3 b\u0151rlemezek t\u00f6ve keskenyebb \u00e9s vastagabb fajt\u00e1rsain\u00e1l.
